Charred Grilled Octopus
I’ve only had Grilled Octopus once before - on the last night (unfortunately) of a trip to Lisbon - and I couldn’t stop myself from eating out of a someone else’s plate too! 🐙Who knew it was this easy to make at home?! Here’s a recipe for a charred, grilled octopus drizzled with olive oil to take it to perfection! Looks like tomorrow’s dinner is also planned.🍴 The only hard part associated with this recipe - and kinda disgusting too to be honest - is the cleaning the octopus. I cannot deal with all that sliminess so no was was I going it do any of that myself. Tried to handle that raw creature as little as I could, so I got it pre-cleaned. You might want to consider doing that too .
What you need

tsp olive oil

pinch red pepper flake
tsp garlic

tsp lemon juice

tsp pepper
oz octopus

tsp parsley
pinch salt
Instructions
Place octopus in a large pot over medium heat and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer, cover and cook for 25 minutes or until octopus is tender but still firm (tip of a sharp knife should slide in easily). Drain and set aside to cool until ready to handle, about 15 minutes. Preheat grill to medium high, about 450°F. Transfer octopus to a bowl, add 1 tsp olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and seasonings and toss to combine. Grill each side for about 2-3 minutes until charred. Slice into ½ - ¾" thick rounds and arrange on a platter. Drizzle ½ tsp olive oil, garnish with parsley and serve!View original recipe
