Peanut Butter Protein Twix Bars (Vegan and Low Carb)

These Peanut Butter Protein Twix Bars are a healthy, homemade and high-protein version of the candy bar everyone loves. Twix protein bars are made with oat flour, protein powder and sugar free maple syrup and chocolate, for a gluten-free, Vegan and low calorie treat!

What you need

cup oat flour

tbsp coconut flour

tsp maple syrup

tbsp creamy peanut butter

tbsp water

tbsp chocolate chips

tsp coconut oil
Instructions
1 Line a 7x5” pan or loaf pan with parchment paper; leave an overhang to lift out later. Base: 1 In a bowl combine oat flour, coconut flour, unflavored protein powder and vanilla protein powder. 2 Add in maple syrup and milk and mix. Mixture will be like a dough.Add more milk if too dry, coconut flour if too wet. 3 Transfer to prepared pan and press down. Peanut Butter Protein Caramel: 1 In the same bowl, stir peanut butter powder, peanut butter, protein powder, maple syrup and water.Mixture should be thick but smooth and spreadable. 2 Spread on top of base and use back of spoon/spatula or fingers to smoothen. 3 Place in freezer 10 minutes to harden. 4 Lift layers out of pan, place on cutting board and slice into 6 bars. Chocolate Topping: 1 Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a large microwave safe bowl and microwave about 45 seconds, stirring halfway, until completely melted. 2 Spread chocolate on bar and use back of spoon to smoothen. 3 Transfer to freezer to cool about 3-5 minutes.View original recipe
