So I just found a way to save some money on those weekly grocery runs. Homemade Whole Wheat Pita Bread! 🍞 This recipe needs just 3 ingredients, one of which is water, and super basic. Now I can have my carbs healthy and cheap whenever I want! 🥖

- Preheat oven to 500°F. - In a large bowl, sift together flour and yeast. - Gradually add water and mix well until the dough starts to clean the sides of the bowl. - Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 4-5 minutes. Do not over-knead. - Divide dough into 10 balls. - On a lightly-floured surface, roll out each ball into a 5-6” circle, about ⅛-¼ inch thick. - Place dough on a nonstick baking sheet and set aside to rise for 30 minutes. - Flip each pita over on its other side and bake for 5 minutes. - Pitas may be hard when they come out of the oven, but will soften as they cool. - Cut pitas in half crosswise and stuff with your choice of fillings! - Store in an airtight container or zipper bags, when they’ve cooled and freeze for long term use.View original recipe
