Cook Quinoa: 2 Rinse quinoa thoroughly in cold water (required to avoid any bitter taste). 3 Bring ½ cup water and quinoa to a boil in saucepan, reduce heat to a low simmer and let cook for 15-20 minutes until quinoa is fluffy and all the water is absorbed. 4 Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Fluff the quinoa with a fork and move it to a plate. Pop it in the fridge to cool completely. Cook Oats: 7 Bring ¾ cup water to boil in a saucepan, stir in the oats and bring to a boil again. 8 Cover with a lid, reduce heat to a low simmer, and let cook 25 minutes (or longer if needed) until soft and creamy. 9 Do not walk away from the pot as the oats my boil over. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking. Assemble: 12 Transfer quinoa and oats to a bowl, and add protein powder. 13 Fold gently (avoid making it mushy) while gradually adding the water/almond milk. Add more liquid if needed. 14 Re-heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Caramelize Apple: 17 Heat a skillet on medium and lightly spray(1-2) with cooking spray. 18 Slice the apple into thin wedges and place on pan.
