0 Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 12-hole donut pan with cooking spray to grease. 1 In a large bowl, whisk together applesauce, egg whites and yogurt. 2 In another bowl, mix flour, protein powder, black cocoa, cocoa powder and baking powder. 3 Add dry mix to wet and mix with a large spoon until combined.Mixture will be runny. 5 Divide mixture evenly among donut pan cavities, filling about ⅔-¾ way up. 6 Bake for 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the donut comes out clean.Let cool for 5 minutes and remove from pan. Transfer to a cooling rack to cool. Cherry Topping: 9 Heat cherries, lemon juice, sweetener and cornstarch in a small saucepan over medium, stirring occasionally until fruit begins to break down and bubble, about 7-10 min. 10 Use a spoon or potato masher to mash to desired consistency. 11 Remove from heat let cool (place in fridge). Frosting and Assemble: 13 Let donuts and cherry topping cool completely. 14 In a bowl, combine yogurt and protein powder. 15 Use the back of a spoon or knife to spread frosting on top of donuts, and then add cherry mixture on top.View original recipe
